Massuniverse studio presents “Mirai-chan”, an exhibition by Tokyo-based photographer Kotori Kawashima, from Nov 16 to Dec 15.
On show is a collection of 130 beautiful photographs portraying an adorable little girl with reddish cheeks, Mirai-chan.
Her cuteness has won the hearts of many both in Japan and overseas.
Her photo book of the same title, originally published in a small print run by a Tokyo gallery, quickly sold out. It has been reprinted and has become one of the best-selling photo books in Japan, selling more than 90,000 copies to date.
The pretty girl from Sadoshima in Niigata prefecture is also popular in the cyber world and her photographs have been exhibited both in Japan and Taiwan.
The “Mirai-chan” exhibition will open on Nov 16 at 5.30pm and the photographer will be a speaker during a talk session on “Mirai-chan and Kotori’s world” at The Reading Room art library on Silom Soi 19 on Nov 17 from 6.30pm to 8pm.
He will give another talk called “Nice to meet you, Mirai-chan” at the Happening Shop, 3rd floor of the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre on Dec 15, the last day of the exhibition.
